I always hire a car and driver for all my tours, so that I can fully focus on guiding you.
I am Lamin Sanneh, a Gambian local tour guide, who has been working for over 15 years in the hotel industry as a tourist guide between Gambia and Senegal (Senegambia).
I am confident with the level of my knowledge, experience and skills about Senegambia cultures, tribes, people, history, tradition and nature.
A guide to tourist distinction with lots of information for learning purpose and inspiration about the Gambia and Senegal.
I offer half or full day tours depending on your needs. There is room for flexibility during the tour and you are free to ask questions at any time during the tour. I constantly give you information about what we encounter along the way and tell you about the traditions and culture of The Gambia and Senegal, that are different from the European, Asian or American culture.
If you only want to go just for a few hours that can be arranged too. Depends of course on the location you want to visit.
The vacation feeling is paramount in the tour. We will make an appointment that fits your schedule. Together we discuss the best day for a tour or outing. Some of the possible tours can be found on this website, but more is possible. In a consultation we put together a tailor-made tour.
All of the tours include transport. Prices are per person. Lunch and entrance fee are not included.
I always hire a car and driver for all my tours, so that I can fully focus on guiding you.
8:30am to around 3pm, D2000
We start from your hotel at 8am and head by car through the forest to the Jola tribal village of Berending on the Halahin River that separates Gambia from Senegal. Here we are picked up by a local motorboat and cruise past mangrove and Forest, viewing many birds, and perhaps crocodile and monkeys. On the way to the Senegal or Gambia side of the river we dock the boat at a small restaurant in a pretty inlet and ride or walk 15 minutes through old rice fields to the ancient silk cotton trees, as well as welcoming villagers. We spend a little time looking around, to school and then back to the restaurant for lunch and/or cold drink (bring some spending money:-)). We take the boat to Karting and drive back, stopping at the lemon fish Art gallery and if you like, the Reptile farm and back to your hotel.
